brunch/when the check cashes...

I had totally forgotten that I have a rewards card at this one local restaurant. K and I have been saving up points for years, originally aiming for one of the high-level prizes. But you can also cash in points for a restaurant credit. In all, I have the equivalent of a couple hundred dollars in restaurant credit.

So K, C and I spent $45 of the credit this morning. We had a nice brunch and were able to get out of the house and just feel 'normal' and not poor. And we didn't spend any money!

(our bank account is currently $800 overdrawn since K accidentally sent the entire rent check in instead of sending in only half now and the other half when I get paid Tuesday like we were supposed to do)

It's amazing how such a small thing like going out to eat brunch as a family can help raise your spirits.

ahh...

Oh, and once again, because it's just so much fun/torture to keep playing this game: there is good news out there, and perhaps a silver lining after all. Money may actually be coming in within the next couple months. But how many other times have I thought this over the past year??

As I now always say:
I'll believe it when the check cashes.
